The Dark Flame Pirates are considered to be a faction that is a force to be reckoned with. The leader of the crew, Captain Doctor Robert Joe (Little John) Johnson, used to be friends with the Motley Crews own Captain Tibs. Because of a disagreement during a gambling match they are now sworn enemies. These rogue pirates are enemies to most everyone they come in contact with because of the brute tactics they inflict on others. Most crews would rather surrender and give up everything that they had than face the torture of the Dark Flame Pirates.
A tale that is told of the Dark Flame Pirates is that they work for GOD and use its power to gain an advantage. Captain Dr. Little John Johnson denies any such allegations or affiliations.
The Dark Flame Pirates originated initially as a means to squash all the illegal looting of freighters and stealing of local treasures in several regions of space. All crew members were volunteers from local galaxies. Not until there was a massive accident, which involved many casualties. The crew members who were still alive had to fight off an enemy that was very difficult and in the end they were victorious. The remaining four members including Captain Dr. Little John Johnson, made the Dark Flame Pirates a group that now pillages and steals treasures from everyone and anyone. They see this as a sort of redemption for the lives that were taken on the volunteer mission.
