The Galactic Asteroid Preservation Association (GAPA) was founded in GY 698 by Dr. Joshua Wight. GAPA's mission is to protect and preserve asteroids from being destroyed or otherwise tampered with through events such as mining or battles. The organization is funded by the empire, as well as through donations from like minded citizens. In order to help protect the asteroids, GAPA has also convinced the empire to set aside asteroid preservation facilities across the galaxy. GAPA also works with Apollo University so they can study the formation of asteroid fields.
